Students have the opportunity to study abroad in Cuba through the Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies Program.
By registering for POL 2050, students can learn about peace studies and conflict resolution in arguably the most politically interesting country in our hemisphere. The recent diplomatic agreements between the United States and Cuba have provided a unique laboratory for the study of how cultural, national, economic, and political differences are negotiated. Cuba has steadfastly maintained its own personality while attempting to hold forth in the face of withering economic sanctions. Now as more Americans gain access to this enigmatic place, Cuba is faced with important decisions on how to engage with United States to mutual benefit.
This semester-long class will include a week-long trip to the country.
